About this location
Truc Lam Chanh Giac Zen Monastery - A large-scale Buddhist architectural complex in Dong Thap. Located in Hamlet 1, Tan Phuoc 2 Commune, Dong Thap Province, Truc Lam Chanh Giac Zen Monastery belongs to the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect and construction began in 2012. Spanning approximately 30 hectares, the monastery is zoned into inner and outer areas, featuring numerous structures dedicated to study, rituals, and welcoming Buddhists. Its grand architectural scale and harmoniously arranged structures create a prominent spiritual complex in the Mekong Delta region. The highlight of the monastery is the Main Hall, designed with traditional tiled roofs, flanked by the bell tower and drum tower. The grounds also house the Patriarch Hall, Meditation Hall, Lecture Hall, library, and a recreation of the Four Sacred Sites (Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, and Kushinagar). These structures are built at a 6/10 scale replica of the originals in India and Nepal, creating distinct architectural spaces with high visual and Buddhist cultural value. The monastery offers diverse camera angles, from the triple-gate entrance, Main Hall, bell and drum towers, to the Four Sacred Sites and spacious courtyards. This location is suitable for feature films, historical dramas, documentaries, Buddhist-themed films, MVs, and commercials—especially projects requiring a large-scale zen monastery setting, traditional architecture, and a solemn spiritual atmosphere.
