About this location

Thanh Luong Pagoda - An ancient temple spanning over two centuries associated with Buddhism in Dong Thap. Located on National Highway 30 in My Tra Ward, Dong Thap Province, Thanh Luong Pagoda is an ancient temple established in the late 18th century. Founded by Venerable Thich Bao Cuu, it has been passed down through generations of abbots, becoming a long-standing Buddhist center in the Cao Lanh region. Beyond being a place of worship, the pagoda is also tied to Buddhist education, currently housing the Dong Thap Provincial Intermediate School of Buddhist Studies. Through multiple restorations, the temple's architecture has evolved from its original form. The complex now boasts a spacious appearance featuring worship areas, the main sanctuary, and grounds dedicated to study and monastic practice. It serves dual roles as a traditional Buddhist facility and a characteristic local training center for monks and nuns. From the temple grounds, production crews can capture angles of the entrance gate, main sanctuary, worship spaces, courtyard, and the monastic studies of resident monks and nuns. This location is ideal for feature films, documentaries, cultural-spiritual films, or scenes requiring a Southern Vietnamese Buddhist backdrop, monastic study spaces, and traditional devotional life.
