About this location
Ap Bac Historical Site - A hallmark of resounding victory during the resistance war against the US. Located in Tan Phu Commune, Dong Thap Province, the Ap Bac Victory Historical Site is associated with the battle on January 2, 1963, between our army and people and the Saigon army forces with US support. The Ap Bac victory defeated the tactical maneuvers of "helicopter assault" and "armored personnel carrier transport", marking an important milestone in the resistance war against the US and symbolizing the resilient fighting spirit of the army and people of Southern Vietnam. The site was classified as a national heritage in 1993. The site is organized into various sub-zones featuring structures that recreate and preserve wartime remnants. Highlights include the Three Steel Warriors monument, the martyrs' cemetery, the aircraft and tank exhibition area, the museum, alongside a system of combat trenches, bunkers, military medical stations, and reconstructed resistance base structures. The space combines a memorial area, historical artifacts, and Southern rural landscapes, creating a backdrop deeply imbued with the era of the resistance war. The site offers filming angles at the monument, exhibition hall, trench and fortification systems, reconstructed civilian houses, and the military vehicle exhibition area. This location is suitable for historical films, revolutionary war films, documentaries, reportages, or projects requiring the recreation of Southern rural settings during the resistance war against the US.
