About this location

Nguyen Sinh Sac Memorial Site - A historical and cultural space in the heart of Cao Lanh. The Nguyen Sinh Sac Memorial Site, also known as the Nguyen Sinh Sac relic site, is located at 137 Pham Huu Lau Street, Cao Lanh Ward, Dong Thap Province. This is the resting place of Vice-President Nguyen Sinh Sac - a patriotic Confucian scholar, physician, and teacher, and the father of President Ho Chi Minh. Construction began in 1975 and was completed in 1977, making the relic site a place of special significance in remembering, preserving, and promoting historical values associated with his life. The architectural highlight of the memorial site is Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac's tomb with a dome shaped like a stylized lotus petal, decorated with nine dragon heads on top. The complex also features a temple, an exhibition house, a 1:1 scale model of Uncle Ho's stilt house, a lotus pond, and a space recreating the ancient Hoa An village. Traditional houses, green landscapes, water features, and memorial structures create an atmosphere deeply imbued with Southern Vietnamese cultural imprints. In 2025, the site was classified as a Special National Relic. With its diverse architectural structures, the memorial site offers various angles for filming the mausoleum, temple, stilt house, lotus pond, ancient house, and traditional cultural activities. It is an ideal location for historical films, documentaries, films about President Ho Chi Minh and his family, socio-cultural films, reportages, or scenes requiring a historical relic backdrop and Southern rural spaces.
