Phu Lang Pottery Village – A space of earth and fire. Located in Bac Ninh, Phu Lang Pottery Village preserves traditional pottery craftsmanship, featuring signature eel-skin glaze, manual techniques, and a scenic village landscape along the Cau River. Phu Lang Pottery Village, situated in Phu Lang Commune, Bac Ninh Province, is a traditional craft village in the Kinh Bac region. The pottery craft here has a long history, utilizing manual shaping techniques and traditional wood-fired kilns. Phu Lang pottery was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016. The visual appeal of Phu Lang lies in its production process. Clay is processed, shaped on a potter's wheel or in molds, glazed, and fired in traditional kilns. The products are characterized by shades of brown, brownish-black, light yellow, and brownish-yellow, commonly known as 'eel-skin' glaze. The village landscape is further enhanced by pottery products displayed along village paths, alleys, and integrated into residential architecture. For film production, the manual processes, potter's wheels, pottery products, and production spaces provide excellent opportunities for capturing shots focused on craftsmanship, traditional trades, and village life. The location is suitable for documentaries, cultural films, art films, and works exploring traditional themes, provided they align with script requirements.
