Diem Village

Diem Village – A cultural space of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk singing. Diem Village, Bac Ninh, is a cultural space associated with the ancestral origins of Quan Ho and a system of historical relics, making it suitable for cultural and historical film productions. Diem Village, the local name for Viem Xa, is currently located in Viem Xa residential group, Kinh Bac Ward, Bac Ninh Province. This is an ancient village deeply connected to the Quan Ho cultural space and the Temple of Vua Ba – the Ancestor of Quan Ho. Diem Village is recognized as one of the original Quan Ho villages of Bac Ninh. The site's outstanding value lies in its preserved system of cultural, religious, and festival spaces associated with Quan Ho. The Vua Ba Temple, Cung Temple – Ngoc Well, Diem Communal House, and various Quan Ho performance spaces create a Northern Vietnamese village backdrop with significant cultural depth. Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs were inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009; the practice of Quan Ho is intrinsically linked to festivals, rituals, and community life. Regarding film production, this space is suitable for historical films, cultural films, dramas, and works depicting Northern Vietnamese community life, especially when the narrative requires elements of ancient villages, traditional beliefs, and Quan Ho culture.
