About this location
HUE ROYAL ANTIQUITIES MUSEUM - A REPOSITORY OF THE NGUYEN DYNASTY'S CULTURAL HERITAGE Located at 03 Le Truc Street, Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City, the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum was established in 1923. It serves as a venue for preserving, conserving, and showcasing a system of antiquities associated with the history of the Nguyen Dynasty, reflecting the cultural life, art, and daily routines of the Vietnamese imperial family. The museum's most prominent exhibition space is Long An Palace, built in 1845 during the reign of Emperor Thieu Tri. The palace is distinguished by its traditional wooden architecture, continuous multi-gable structure (trùng thiềm điệp ốc), and intricate carving and decorative systems. The collections include imperial porcelain, royal attire, woodwork, and ritual objects, providing valuable visual references for recreating the royal environment and Nguyen Dynasty court art. Combining classical architecture and historically significant artifacts, the museum is well-suited as a backdrop for historical documentaries, cultural films, documentaries on royal fine arts, and feature films set during the Nguyen Dynasty. Its architectural space and decorative details support the depiction of imperial life, rituals, and Vietnamese court culture. Filming activities require approval from the management unit, especially within the exhibition and artifact conservation areas. Information compilation executed by: PTIT Photo source: Internet
