About this location
Thuan An Beach - Hue City Thuan An Beach is located in Thuan An Ward, Hue City, approximately 15 km east of the city center. Situated near the Thuan An estuary—where the Huong (Perfume) River flows through the Tam Giang Lagoon into the East Sea—the location creates a unique intersection of sea, river mouth, and coastal lagoon landscapes. Thuan An estuary holds significant historical importance in the region of Hue. From the 17th to the 18th centuries, it served as a vital waterway connecting to the capital of the Nguyen Lords and acted as a checkpoint for maritime traffic. In 1813, King Gia Long renamed the estuary Thuan An. The combination of coastal sandy beaches, expansive waterscapes, local boat activities, and the daily life of coastal residents provides ideal conditions for capturing panoramic wide shots, shore-side scenes, and local maritime culture. This background is well-suited for documentaries on maritime history and culture, reports on fishermen's lifestyles, feature films set in coastal regions, and projects promoting Hue's culture and landscapes.
