THUY XUAN INCENSE VILLAGE - THE VIBRANT COLORS OF CRAFT VILLAGE AND TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFT BEAUTY IN HUE Thuy Xuan Incense Village is located along Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street, Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City (according to the new administrative unit). This is a traditional handicraft village famous for its incense production, which is deeply rooted in the cultural and spiritual life of the local people. In 2021, the Thuy Xuan incense-making craft was recognized as a traditional craft by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province. Incense making in Thuy Xuan has a history spanning hundreds of years, once supplying incense to the royal court and mandarins during the Nguyen Dynasty. The processes of rolling incense, forming the bamboo sticks, and drying the products are mainly carried out manually. Colorful bundles of incense sticks arranged in clusters create a striking visual feature, combined with the image of artisans and production activities, providing authentic visual materials about the traditional craft of Hue. With its cultural value and characteristic handicraft production activities, Thuy Xuan Incense Village is well-suited as a background for documentaries about craft villages, cultural documentaries, reports on artisans, and cinematic works exploring labor life, community activities, and traditional beliefs in Hue.
