AM PAGODA - DIEN QUANG TU – AN OVER 600-YEAR-OLD ANCIENT PAGODA Am Pagoda - Dien Quang Tu is located in Duc Tho Commune, Ha Tinh Province (formerly Duc Hoa Commune, Duc Tho District). The pagoda sits halfway up Am Mountain amidst a serene forest, with the Tra Son mountain range behind it. About 1km to the front flows the Ngan Sau River, which joins the La River. It is located 54km from the center of Ha Tinh City. Also known as Dien Quang Tu, the pagoda was built in the early 15th century by Empress Bach Ngoc, wife of King Tran Due Tong. It was originally founded by Empress Bach Ngoc as a place of practice for herself, her daughter Princess Huy Chan, and her granddaughter Princess Trang Tu. The pagoda was classified as a National Historical and Cultural Relic under Decision No. 188/QĐ-BT dated February 13, 1995. Spanning 2.8 hectares, the pagoda features a Prajna boat (Bát Nhã) architectural layout in the shape of the Chinese character 'I' (Công), a 160m² main sanctuary hall (Đại hùng bảo điện), and 7 stupas of former abbot monks. The setting preserves the ancient pagoda, Am Mountain, surrounding forests, the Ngan Sau River, courtyards, stupas, and statues. Ideal for aerial flycam panoramic shots, medium shots of the pagoda, courtyards, and stupas, and close-ups of the roof, statues, and pillars.
