Ham Rong Bridge
Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa Province
About this location
Ham Rong Bridge - A Historical Monument Along the Ma River Ham Rong Bridge crosses the Ma River in Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa Province. The structure is set in a distinctive landscape surrounded by the river, Ham Rong Mountain, and Ngoc Mountain. This landmark is closely tied to the history of transportation and the heroic struggle to defend the strategic supply lines of Northern Vietnam. The first bridge began construction in 1901, was completed in 1904, and inaugurated on March 17, 1905. After being destroyed in 1946, it was rebuilt starting in 1962 and completed in 1964. Notably, on April 3-4, 1965, the Ham Rong Bridge area marked a historic victory for the military and people of Thanh Hoa. From a filmmaking perspective, the steel bridge structure combined with the mountainous terrain and river creates a visually striking space with rich historical depth, making it ideal for recreating wartime settings and historical slices of time. This location is well-suited for historical dramas, war films, historical documentaries, and productions exploring themes of wartime memory and national spirit.
