Young Cinema Film Festival 2026 kicks off in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of August 12, the 2026 HCMC Youth CineFest officially launched, marking the 50th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema and the collaboration with UNESCO in Vietnam.

With the theme "Freedom - Open the Frame - Expand the Vision," the event aims to realize Ho Chi Minh City's commitments within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. HCMC Youth CineFest 2026 features two categories: short films and documentaries, scheduled to take place from September 26 to 30.
A notable highlight of this year's festival is the partnership with the International Vietnam School (IVS) as a strategic partner, along with the participation of the reigning Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2025, Nguyen Hoai Phuong Anh, who is currently a faculty member at the school.
Through the activities at the 2026 Youth CineFest, the program aims to create a professional space where young cinematic ideas can be heard and connected with appropriate resources, contributing to motivating the next generation of filmmakers in Ho Chi Minh City.
