In Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) recently held a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps to provide information regarding the 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi. The meeting was attended by representatives from various departments, agencies, and units under the MOCST, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hanoi People's Committee, as well as representatives from diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam.

Building on the resounding success of the first festival in 2025, the 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi will officially take place from October 1st to October 4th, 2026, at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. Unlike the previous edition, this year's event carries the theme "Converging Heritage - Creating the Future," serving as a special highlight to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to UNESCO.

This year's event continues to bring together nearly 50 countries, international organizations, and major enterprises, affirming the massive scale and powerful influence of a world-class cultural diplomacy festival. This is a golden opportunity for cultures to meet, interact, and share their unique beauty, while promoting the image of the country, the people of Hanoi, and Vietnam's invaluable heritage to international friends.

This edition of the festival continues to promote the spirit of exchange, connection, and creativity through culture, while significantly expanding its scale, diversifying content, and enriching experiential forms. All activities are delicately arranged to create a vibrant cultural space where each nation can proudly showcase its identity, heritage, and traditional values, thereby opening up a series of promising cooperation opportunities in the fields of culture, arts, tourism, and modern creative industries.

Thanks to an upgraded scale and much richer content compared to the first edition, the 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi features 45 cultural spaces, 32 culinary stalls, film screenings from 18 participating countries, a fashion show area with traditional costumes from 19 nations, and the presence of nearly 20 international art troupes, promising to ignite a multicultural musical atmosphere throughout the days from October 1st to 4th, 2026. These impressive figures are a clear testament to the festival's appeal, illustrating a comprehensive, multi-genre event spanning exhibitions, performances, gastronomy, cinema, fashion, music, and unique cultural experience zones.

With meticulous preparation, the 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is expected to become a brilliant highlight in the 2026 cultural diplomacy landscape, attracting strong attention from both domestic and international public and media. The festival is not only a source of pride but also contributes to making Hanoi—a UNESCO Creative City—a focal point for global cultural exchange, where traditional values are honored, creative ideas are empowered to spread, and the friendship between Vietnam and international friends is further strengthened.
