Ghenh Che Lake

Ghenh Che Lake - A Picturesque Landscape Amidst the Thai Nguyen Tea Hills Ghenh Che Lake is an artificial reservoir constructed in 1986 to provide irrigation for over 300 hectares of agricultural land. It is located near the Tan Cuong tea region in Thai Nguyen Province, approximately 20km from the center of Thai Nguyen City. The lake's surface area fluctuates between 40–90 hectares depending on the season, featuring dozens of islands and peninsulas scattered across turquoise waters, surrounded by vast forests of styrax and eucalyptus trees, as well as the lush green tea hills characteristic of the land known as the 'premier tea region'. The landscape remains pristine and largely untouched by mass tourism. The calm surface of the lake provides an ideal backdrop for wide shots or aerial cinematography. On July 10, 2023, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province officially recognized this site as a Community Tourism Destination, managed by the Ghenh Che Community Tourism Cooperative, which facilitates logistics coordination for film crews. With its harmonious combination of lake, islands, and tea hills, and its well-preserved natural state, this location is suitable for romantic films, slice-of-life dramas set in the Vietnamese countryside, and tourism promotional videos showcasing the scenic beauty of the Northern Midlands.
