Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir

About this location
Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir - A river amidst the mountains. The Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir was formed following the construction of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant on the Da River, creating one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Vietnam. The section of the reservoir within Phu Tho province spans multiple areas, featuring vast water surfaces, islands, and a surrounding system of hills and mountains. The reservoir landscape is characterized by water stretching between mountain ranges, inlets, islands, and forested shorelines. The interplay between the water and the mountainous terrain provides significant depth for framing, ranging from wide panoramic shots to focused sequences on boats, islands, shorelines, and riverside life. The reservoir is directly associated with the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant—a structure built between 1979 and 1994, comprising a dam system, the power plant, and various facilities tied to the history of the project's construction. With its combination of river and lake landscapes, mountains and forests, industrial infrastructure, and riverside life, this location is suitable for feature films, documentaries, short films, music videos, and scenes depicting nature, mountainous regions, or industrial settings.
