About this location

Hung Lo Communal House - A space of ancient Vietnamese village architecture. Hung Lo Communal House is located in Van Phu Ward, Phu Tho Province, within the Hung Lo village landscape along the Lo River. Classified as a national historical relic in 1990, the communal house preserves many traditional architectural and cultural values of the Northern Midlands region. The complex consists of the Main Hall, Front Hall, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Forecourt, creating an architectural ensemble with multiple spatial layers. The wooden structural system, roof, columns, trusses, along with intricate carvings and ritual objects, provide distinct visual characteristics, suitable for capturing everything from wide architectural shots to detailed close-ups. Hung Lo Communal House is also associated with Xoan singing – a folk performing art originating from the land of Phu Tho, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The communal courtyard, ancient architecture, and community cultural activities provide an ideal setting for recreating village life, rituals, and traditional practices. This location is suitable for historical films, cultural documentaries, feature films, short films, music videos, and visual productions requiring an authentic Northern Vietnamese communal house setting.
