Buu Long Pagoda – A Theravada Buddhist sanctuary amidst lush greenery by the river. Buu Long Pagoda, officially known as Buu Long Zen Monastery, is located at 81 Nguyen Xien, Long Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. It is one of the most prominent centers of Theravada Buddhism in Vietnam. The pagoda grounds cover approximately 11 hectares, situated on hilly terrain overlooking the Dong Nai River. The setting features a distinctive Theravada Buddhist architectural complex, including the main hall and the Gotama Cetiya Stupa. The original hermitage was built by layman Vo Ha Thuat in 1942; in 1958, it was gifted to Zen Master Ho Tong and developed into a monastery. The Gotama Cetiya Stupa is the architectural highlight of the landscape, integrated with ponds, greenery, and hilly topography. With its characteristic Theravada architecture, expansive green space, hilly terrain, and water features, this location is suitable for cultural and religious films, historical dramas, documentaries, reportages, family-psychological dramas, and scenes requiring a meditative, tranquil atmosphere.
