The structure was designated a National Historical and Cultural Monument under Decision No. 983/VH-QD dated August 4, 1992, by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Construction began in 1898 and was completed in 1902, featuring late 19th-century neoclassical European architecture. The three-story mansion boasts characteristic neoclassical elements, including red-tiled roofs, Romanesque arched windows, and sea-facing balconies. Nestled within a forest of ancient frangipani trees on the slopes of Big Mountain (Nui Lon), Bach Dinh offers a multi-layered spatial structure that blends natural light with the rich patina of time. Its interior details, arched doorways, and breezy corridors provide impressive visual depth, ideal for cinematic angles without the need for complex set construction.
