About this location

Vu Mon Waterfall - Ha Tinh's Carp Turning into a Dragon Waterfall Vu Mon Waterfall is located in Huong Khe Commune, Ha Tinh Province. A multi-tiered waterfall nestled deep in the forest, associated with the legend of the carp turning into a dragon, near the Vietnam-Laos border. VU MON WATERFALL – THE CARP TURNING INTO A DRAGON WATERFALL DEEP IN THE GREAT FOREST Vu Mon Waterfall is located in Huong Khe Commune, Ha Tinh Province. The newly established Huong Khe Commune under Resolution 1665/NQ-UBTVQH15 in 2025 comprises Huong Khe Township, Huong Long Commune, and Phu Gia Commune. The waterfall is situated in the former Phu Gia Commune, about 8.5km east of Border Post 571, approximately 1km west of the Vietnam-Laos border, bordered by Man Ri Mountain to the south and Da Lai Mountain to the north. The landscape features multi-tiered white cascading water amid green forests, rock cliffs, streams, large boulders, pools, fern canopies, and primary forests. The waterfall is linked to the legend of the carp turning into a dragon, adding a cultural layer to the setting. The formations of white cascades, black rocks, moss, grass, mist, and light filtering through the forest canopy create a strong visual axis. The landscape is ideal for wide-angle drone shots of the waterfall amidst the vast forest, medium shots of the cascading water, and close-ups of water foam, rocks, moss, and forest foliage, making the best of early morning and late afternoon light. The landscape is well-suited for nature films, adventure films, road movies, ecological documentaries, family films, eco-tourism promotional films, and pristine, lyrical music videos.
