Nam Can Mangrove Forest – The green lifeblood of the southernmost region. Spanning a vast area of 63,017 hectares surrounding Cape Ca Mau, the Nam Can Mangrove Forest is the second-largest mangrove forest in the world (second only to the Amazon), boasting a proud V-shape when viewed from satellite imagery. During wartime, the treacherous terrain of the dense river network in Nam Can served as a revolutionary base. Its 'advantageous for us, difficult for the enemy' geography provided a sanctuary for soldiers to resiliently repel enemy sweep operations. From a cinematic perspective, the mangrove landscape is a magnificent, primitive, and wild world with towering, perfectly straight mangrove trees. The massive, intertwined root systems, deeply anchored in the alluvial mangrove mud, create towering, artistic natural geometric structures. The scene of a 'vo lai' (local wooden boat) gliding silently along the deep, winding canals beneath the cool green canopy creates a dreamlike, brilliant sense of depth. Perfect for historical dramas set during the era of Southern territorial expansion, dramatic river-based action films, heroic revolutionary war films, and artistic documentaries on river landscapes.
