U Minh Ha – The mystical Melaleuca forest of the South Boasting a core area of over 8,500 hectares of special-use forest, U Minh Ha National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a core zone of the World Biosphere Reserve. It is distinguished by its typical alum-contaminated brackish wetland ecosystem on peat soil. The landscape is characterized by stretches of pristine Melaleuca forests standing tall and straight as far as the eye can see, with roots firmly anchored in a layer of black peat 0.5 to 1.5 meters thick, holding significant scientific value. Beneath the canopy of ancient Melaleuca trees, where light is diffused, lies a vast visual tapestry of dense green duckweed, drifting peacefully along the surface of brackish water canals. The morning mist lingering over the treetops, combined with the chirping of hundreds of wild bird species, creates a sense of solitude and mystery, perfect for cinematic shots with a vintage or atmospheric aesthetic. Ideal for survival films, historical war dramas set in rugged marshlands, dark fantasy films, or scientific documentaries on wetland biodiversity conservation. Information compiled by: PTIT. Location rules
The use of fire, flammable materials, pyrotechnic effects, or smoking within the forest is strictly prohibited due to the extremely high risk of Melaleuca forest fires during the dry season (Forest Fire Prevention and Control is the top priority).
It is forbidden to cut down Melaleuca trees, damage aquatic vegetation, or discharge any chemical or machine lubricants into the alum-contaminated mud.
Filming must be accompanied by forest rangers to guide the route and provide strict on-site supervision.
