Serey Meang Kol Sa Kor Pagoda – A majestic Khmer Theravada Buddhist architectural complex in the heart of An Giang. Serey Meang Kol Sa Kor Pagoda (commonly known as Vinh Thanh Pagoda) is located in An Chau Commune, Chau Thanh District. The pagoda is renowned as a unique cultural and spiritual center for the Khmer community, featuring a serene atmosphere and a large-scale Theravada Buddhist architectural complex. The location offers incredibly impressive cinematic angles thanks to its record-breaking Buddha statue complex, including a 27m-high meditating Shakyamuni Buddha statue standing out against the sky, a 100m-long reclining Buddha statue entering Nirvana, and a 10m-high standing Buddha statue at the main entrance. The main hall's architecture features distinct Southern Khmer artistic style, with two rows of massive columns supporting a spacious roof, and walls and ceilings covered in intricate reliefs and vibrant murals depicting the life of the Buddha. The surrounding grounds are adorned with Yeak (Yaksa) guardian statues and intricately carved Naga serpents, creating a powerful visual effect and rich cultural texture for shots ranging from wide angles to close-ups. Suitable as a setting for Southern Vietnamese socio-cultural films, Khmer historical/period dramas, mythological psychological films, art documentaries, or scenes depicting indigenous spiritual pilgrimages.
