Hon Gai Parish Church

Hon Gai Parish Church - A Catholic architectural landmark in the heart of Ha Long. Located on Dao Mountain in Hong Gai Ward, Quang Ninh Province, Hon Gai Parish Church is a religious site with a long history and a prominent architectural feature in central Ha Long. The original church was built in 1933 but destroyed by bombing in 1967; the current structure was rebuilt by the parish in 1998. The church is built in a Romanesque architectural style, distinguished by its arches, stone-pillared doorways, and a bell tower approximately 33 meters high. Situated on the slopes of Dao Mountain, it offers expansive views of central Ha Long and Bai Tho Mountain. The combination of church architecture, elevated hilly terrain, and urban landscape creates a deep, layered backdrop, particularly suitable for wide-angle shots. From the church grounds, filmmakers can capture angles of the facade, bell tower, interior space, courtyard, the path up the mountain, and the Ha Long urban landscape.
