Bac Lieu Salt-Making Village – The white hues of the sea and human life. With a history spanning over a century, the Bac Lieu salt-making village is considered Vietnam's renowned "salt capital," stretching for dozens of kilometers along the coastline, with its largest scale concentrated in Dong Hai commune. The salt field setting offers a minimalist yet grand visual graphic composition for the cinematic lens. The flooded salt pans reflect the sky like giant, polished mirrors, interspersed with dark, compacted, and smooth soil beds swept by sea breezes. As seawater crystallizes under the intense sun, salt farmers—their skin darkened by the sun and wind—rake the salt into hundreds of white-pink conical mounds stretching endlessly. The extreme color contrast between the black of the soil, the brilliant white-pink of the Southwestern sea salt, and the vibrant oblique light of the tropical sun creates invaluable cinematic material, honoring the resilient labor of the local people. Suitable as a setting for art-house films, social dramas, documentaries on national intangible cultural heritage, and romantic films set in the rural Western river region.
