About this location

Tien La Temple - A historical landmark and spiritual architecture in Hung Yen Tien La Temple is located in Tien La village, Tien La commune, Hung Yen province (formerly located in Doan Hung commune, Hung Hia district, Thai Binh province). This is a national historical-cultural site dedicated to General Vu Thi Thuc (Bat Nan Dong Nhung), a female general associated with the Trung Sisters' uprising. The temple sits on Kim Quy mound, near the Tien Hung river, creating a spiritual architectural space intertwined with the landscape of the Northern Delta. The temple's space is organized according to traditional architecture with a layout consisting of a front hall and a Dinh-shaped rear, including the triple gate (Tam quan), front ceremonial hall, middle ceremonial hall, and inner sanctum. The structure impresses visitors with its stone architectural system, wooden structures, and intricate carvings of dragons, phoenixes, and the four noble plants. Its position facing the Tien Hung river harmonizes spiritual architecture with the Northern Delta landscape. With its distinct historical, architectural, and religious values, Tien La Temple is suitable as a setting for historical documentaries, cultural films, folk belief research films, and works exploring the era of the Trung Sisters. Filming activities require the approval of the site management board, ensuring the solemnity of the worshipping space. Information compiled by: PTIT Photo source: PTIT
