Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple - A Tran Dynasty landmark by Bai Tho Mountain. Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple is located in Hong Gai Ward, Quang Ninh Province, at the foot of Bai Tho Mountain, within the historical, cultural, and scenic complex of Bai Tho Mountain. The temple is dedicated to Hung Vu Vuong Tran Quoc Nghien, the eldest son of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, a general who played a key role in the resistance wars against the Yuan-Mongol invaders and the defense of the Northeast region. The site has been classified as a national-level monument since 1992. The temple was established in the late 13th century and has undergone numerous restorations. The structure features traditional architecture, including a ceremonial hall with three bays and a rear sanctuary. The temple also houses altars for Yet Kieu and Gia Tuong, two generals associated with the Tran Dynasty. Situated on elevated ground, the temple faces Ha Long Bay, creating a deep, layered backdrop with Bai Tho Mountain, lush greenery, and the urban landscape. In 2026, the temple grounds, square, and surrounding greenery were expanded, renovated, and embellished. From the temple grounds, filmmakers can capture angles of the temple gate, ceremonial hall, rear sanctuary, altars, courtyard, Bai Tho Mountain, and the scenery of Ha Long Bay. Temple festivals, including rituals, the Duc Ong procession, and traditional cultural activities, provide additional visual material. This location is suitable for historical films, period dramas, documentaries, cultural-spiritual films, music videos, or scenes requiring a Tran Dynasty setting combined with mountain and sea landscapes.
