Cua Ong Temple - A Tran Dynasty landmark overlooking Bai Tu Long Bay. Located in Cua Ong Ward, Quang Ninh Province, Cua Ong Temple is one of the most significant historical and cultural monuments associated with the Tran Dynasty in the Northeast region. The temple is dedicated to Hung Nhuong Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tang, a Tran Dynasty general credited with defending the Northeast sea. The site was designated a Special National Monument in 2017 and currently houses a collection of worship statues and artifacts of great historical and artistic value. The Cua Ong Temple complex consists of the Lower (Ha), Middle (Trung), and Upper (Thuong) temples, arranged along the mountain slope, with the Upper Temple situated at the highest point, facing Bai Tu Long Bay. The architecture features traditional Vietnamese temple design with tiled roofs, wooden structures, courtyards, worship halls, and intricate carvings. The combination of mountains, forests, and sea creates diverse layers of scenery, particularly suitable for wide-angle shots. From the monument grounds, production crews can capture various angles of the temple gate, the three main temples, architectural details, ancient statues, courtyards, the surrounding forest, and the panoramic view of Bai Tu Long Bay. Furthermore, festival activities, palanquin processions, and traditional rituals provide rich material for historical and cultural scenes. This location is ideal for historical dramas, period films, documentaries, spiritual/cultural films, music videos, or any production requiring a Tran Dynasty aesthetic and the coastal mountain landscape of the Northeast.
