About this location

Ba Vang Pagoda - A majestic spiritual space and grand cinematic backdrop in Quang Ninh. Ba Vang Pagoda is nestled halfway up Thanh Dang mountain, in Quang Trung ward, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province. The pagoda boasts a picturesque landscape with its back against high mountains and facing the valley and lush green space of Uong Bi city. In terms of architectural value, the pagoda makes a strong impression with its grand scale bearing the traditional Vietnamese Buddhist architectural style. The complex features a large main hall (Great Buddha Hall), bell tower, drum tower, along with a system of corridors and intricately carved Buddha statues made of wood and stone. Notably, the main hall here is among the largest in the North with a high, spacious interior, multiple tiers of steps, and a vast ceremonial courtyard. From a technical filmmaking perspective, this is an extremely ideal location for exterior and grand-scale scenes, perfect for panoramic flycam shots that create visual awe. The combination of grand wooden architecture, majestic stone steps, and the surrounding mountainous landscape provides exceptional spatial depth for cinematic frames.
