Despite some limitations in the script, 'Human Trafficking Camp' continues to attract audiences through word-of-mouth and its topical subject matter.

According to Box Office Vietnam data, Human Trafficking Camp grossed 203 billion VND just one week after its release. The film currently maintains its momentum with approximately 5,200 screenings per day, dominating its competitors.

This achievement makes Human Trafficking Camp the fourth Vietnamese film in 2026 to surpass the 200 billion VND mark, following 'Rabbit, Oh Rabbit: The Sacred Forest Blood Demon' and 'Summer Break, Retirement Fear'.

One of the advantages for Human Trafficking Camp is the abundance of available showtimes. The lack of new Vietnamese releases and the absence of foreign blockbusters have provided the film with room for continued revenue growth.

Notably, the film was released at the end of September, outside of peak periods like the Lunar New Year or long holidays, yet it has still recorded positive results. If it maintains current ticket sales and accelerates over the weekend, the film could reach the 300 billion VND mark by next week.

Recently, the film's cast, including Steven Nguyen, Quach Ngoc Ngoan, Quach Ngoc Tuyen, and Khanh My, have been actively participating in promotional activities and engaging with audiences at theaters.

However, the producers of Human Trafficking Camp are facing challenges as many segments of the film have been recorded illegally and leaked online. This behavior has caused significant public frustration.

In response to this situation, director Toni Duong Bao Anh stated that the leaking of film imagery and content seriously impacts both Human Trafficking Camp and the audience's experience. Under several posts revealing the film's content, he has personally left comments requesting their removal.

The plot revolves around two siblings, Ny and Ut Det, who enter adulthood early and struggle to survive together. Their mother left to work far away and never returned. Ut Det, being naive, falls into a 'light work, high salary' scam, is trafficked across the border, and falls into the hands of a human trafficking organization.

To save his sister, Ny (Steven Nguyen) and his best friend risk their lives to infiltrate the criminals' lair. However, just when he thinks he has rescued his sister, Ny himself is captured and becomes prisoner number 700 in the human trafficking camp.

Human Trafficking Camp is not built to detail sophisticated scam tactics. The film weaves in the horrific dark side of human trafficking organizations, leaving the audience feeling breathless.

The film's message is clearly expressed through how the characters behave when pushed into extreme situations. Most of them are strangers who must rely on each other to find a way to survive.

The biggest limitation of Human Trafficking Camp lies in the clichéd development of the antagonist line. The ringleaders are primarily portrayed through shouting, beating, and violence, lacking the cunning and sharpness needed to give this character arc real weight.

The film is also unconvincing in its depiction of human trafficking operations combined with high technology. The detail that the victims—poor, uneducated laborers—are kidnapped one day and then able to use sophisticated deepfake technology to carry out transnational scams the next makes the plot lack realism.
