Doomsday often evokes thoughts of catastrophe, but for Marvel Studios, the term is signaling a blockbuster season at the box office. Disney announced that the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Avengers: Doomsday, has already grossed $50 million in advance ticket sales in the North American market, despite being three months away from its official release on December 18.
The studio stated that over 70% of advance ticket sales are for Infinity Vision, highlighting audience demand for premium large-format screens. Infinity Vision is a new certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters, introduced by Disney at CinemaCon, with the promise of delivering the "biggest, brightest, and most immersive cinematic experience" to audiences.

The advance ticket revenue for Avengers: Doomsday was announced by Hugh Johnston, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Walt Disney Company, on September 9 at the Communacopia + Technology Conference hosted by Goldman Sachs.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together a massive roster of Marvel superheroes, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and original X-Men members, as they join forces to confront their most formidable enemy yet: Victor Von Doom.
Robert Downey Jr. returns as the MCU's new major villain following the death of his character Tony Stark/Iron Man at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Chris Evans also returns as Steve Rogers/Captain America, after traveling back in time and retiring from his superhero duties in Endgame. Chris Hemsworth continues in his role as Thor, alongside Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
