About this location

Tam Coc - Bich Dong - Limestone Mountains and Ngo Dong River Landscape Tam Coc - Bich Dong is located in Nam Hoa Lu Ward, Ninh Bình Province, within the Trang An Landscape Complex - a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in 2014. The scenic area is characterized by a dramatic system of limestone karst mountains, the meandering Ngo Dong River, water caves, and interspersed agricultural fields. The landscape of Tam Coc is formed by three natural caves—Hang Ca (First Cave), Hang Hai (Second Cave), and Hang Ba (Third Cave)—situated along the winding Ngo Dong River as it flows through the limestone ranges. Meanwhile, Bich Dong features a complex of pagodas and caves nestled against the mountain slopes, blending spiritual architecture with natural scenery. This diverse topography accommodates panoramic wide shots, water-level tracking shots, and deep-focus compositions. With its distinctive riverine landscapes, caves, and Buddhist architecture, the location is well-suited for historical dramas, period pieces, romance films, and productions depicting Northern Vietnamese rural settings. Additionally, the mountain and cave systems hold significant value for documentaries focusing on geology, nature, and local culture. Information compiled by: PTIT Photo source: PTIT
