Xeo Quyt – A secret base nestled within a cajeput forest, where history hides amidst the canals of Dong Thap Muoi. Some locations do not require the reconstruction of the past because the landscape itself bears the marks of wartime. Xeo Quyt is one such space: small canals winding through cajeput forests, with bunkers and fortifications hidden beneath the canopy, creating an atmosphere that is both pristine and secretive. From 1960 to 1975, this site was chosen by the Kien Phong Provincial Party Committee as a base to lead the resistance. The relic site currently covers a total area of 70 hectares, with a 50-hectare conservation zone. The visual value of Xeo Quyt lies primarily in its natural landscape combined with the system of fortifications, secret bunkers, waterways, and cajeput forests. This space allows for both wide shots of the flooded forest and narrow, deep-focus frames when the camera moves via 'xuong ba la' (three-leaf sampan). The relic site was also chosen as a filming location for the television series 'Dat Phuong Nam' (Southern Land). The location is highly suitable for historical films, war dramas, Southern Vietnamese television series, documentaries, and films recreating life in the Mekong Delta during the war era.
