Son La Prison - A testament to a revolutionary era. Located on Khau Ca Hill, To Hieu Ward, Son La Province, Son La Prison was built by the French colonialists in 1908. Recognized as a National Heritage site in 1962 and a Special National Heritage site in 2014, it stands as one of the most significant revolutionary historical landmarks in the Northwest region. The site covers approximately 2,184 m² and features a system of 49 cells of varying sizes. The architecture utilizes stone walls, bricks, and reinforced structures, creating a harsh atmosphere suitable for recreating the environment of a colonial-era political prison. Several original architectural remnants, along with restored sections, provide a clear view of the prison's scale and structure in the past. Between 1930 and 1945, this site held many revolutionary figures, including To Hieu, Le Duan, Truong Chinh, Nguyen Luong Bang, and Van Tien Dung. Prisoners organized study sessions, political struggles, and revolutionary cells from within the prison, transforming a place of confinement into a site of profound historical significance in the Vietnamese revolution. With its unique architecture and clear historical value, this location is suitable for historical films, war dramas, documentaries, and projects recreating the atmosphere of colonial-era Vietnam.
