Phu Le Communal House - Ancient village architecture in the heart of the Southern region. Located in Phu Le Commune, Ben Tre Province, Phu Le Communal House was built in 1826 and recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument in 1993. The communal house is large in scale, consisting of 10 compartments arranged in a 'Dinh' (T-shape) layout, featuring ironwood columns, fish-scale tiled roofs, and exquisite wood carvings. It sits in a spacious area filled with ancient star and oil trees, creating an atmosphere that is antique, solemn, and characteristic of the Southern Vietnamese countryside. From a visual perspective, the communal house gate, tiled roofs, courtyard, rows of ancient trees, and the intricate red-lacquered and gilded carvings inside offer opportunities for various framing styles, from wide-angle shots of the complex and medium shots of the architecture to close-ups of patterns and artifacts. Light filtering through the canopy, combined with the textures of walls, stone steps, and aged wood, creates a somber, visually profound aesthetic. Given its architectural, historical, and community-religious value, Phu Le Communal House is suitable as a backdrop for historical films, cultural films, documentaries, and psychological dramas. The space can also be utilized in works depicting folk beliefs, rural life, and Southern culture. Information compiled by: PTIT. Photo source: Tham hiem Me Kong.
