About this location

Thuy Nhai Parish Church, Ninh Binh Province Thuy Nhai Parish Church is located in Thuy Nhai village, formerly in Xuan Thuy commune, Nam Dinh province, and now in Ninh Binh province. This religious landmark is closely tied to the history and development of the local Catholic community. According to records from the Bui Chu Diocese, the Gospel was first brought to Thuy Nhai around 1645, and the sub-parish was established in 1650. Construction of the current stone church began in 1917, featuring Gothic architecture built primarily with blue stone. The church is approximately 54 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 17 meters high, with a bell tower reaching about 36-37 meters. The stone columns, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, and decorative details create distinct visual characteristics, making it ideal for capturing panoramic, symmetrical, and architectural close-up shots. With its religious architectural and community historical value, this location is well-suited for cultural documentaries, films on Catholic history in Vietnam, reports on religious life, and narrative films featuring settings in the Northern Delta region of Vietnam.
