Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House – The riverside residence that brought the story of Sa Dec to world cinema. An ancient house can preserve much more than just a family history. At the Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House, Vietnamese, Chinese, and French architectural styles coexist in a single space, while the love story between Huynh Thuy Le and the novelist Marguerite Duras propelled Sa Dec into international literature and cinema. The intersection of personal memory, architecture, and old urban life provides a unique texture for stories imbued with nostalgia. Built in 1895 and renovated in 1917, the house covers an area of approximately 258 m². The exterior features a traditional Vietnamese design with yin-yang roof tiles and curved gables, while the interior utilizes wooden structures, thick brick walls, and numerous decorative details influenced by Chinese culture. The house served as the primary filming location for the movie 'The Lover' (L'Amant). This location is highly suitable for psychological dramas, romances, historical films, period pieces, international productions, fashion commercials, and projects requiring a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and French architectural aesthetics.
