A script or synopsis may be required for review and approval by the management unit: - For international film crews: Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to obtain a permit for providing film production services using locations in Vietnam. The processing time is 20 days from the date of receiving a complete and valid application. - For domestic film crews: No permit from state cinema management agencies is required, but permission must be obtained directly from the site's management unit.

Strictly prohibited content: disclosing state secrets, anti-state propaganda, distorting history, infringing upon sovereignty, undermining national unity, or insulting national heroes and historical figures. (Article 9, Cinema Law)

Special attention is required when filming in protected areas of the Cu Chi Tunnels Special National Monument and the Independence Palace Special National Monument, while also complying with specialized management regulations for military, security, and defense zones.
