Thung Nham Ecotourism Zone, Ninh Binh – An ecological setting amidst limestone mountains. Thung Nham Ecotourism Zone is located in the Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province, within the core zone of the Trang An Landscape Complex – a UNESCO World Heritage site recognized in 2014. Spanning over 300 hectares, Thung Nham features a diverse ecosystem including limestone mountains, wetlands, caves, and a natural bird sanctuary. Regarding its value as a filming location, the combination of limestone peaks, water surfaces, forests, and caves creates multi-layered spaces for cinematography. A highlight is the Bird Park situated in the middle of Tien Lake, home to tens of thousands of birds across more than 46 species. Additionally, the site offers various cave systems such as But Cave, Vai Gioi Cave, and Mermaid Cave (Dong Tien Ca), allowing for a wide range of shots from panoramic nature and water scenes to intricate cave environments. Given its natural characteristics and ecological value, Thung Nham is well-suited for nature and environmental documentaries, exploration films, cultural and travel programs, and productions depicting life integrated with the rural landscapes and limestone mountains of Northern Vietnam.
