Huynh Phu Ancient House - A Hue architectural imprint in the Mekong Delta. Also known as Huong Liem House, Huynh Phu Ancient House is located in Dai Dien Commune, Vinh Long Province. It is a significant architectural and artistic landmark of the historic Ben Tre region. Built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries and associated with Mr. Huynh Ngoc Khiem, the house has been preserved almost intact for over a century. Spanning more than 500m², the structure is built in the traditional 'xuyen trinh' style with three main bays and two lean-tos, distinguished by its wooden column system, yin-yang tiled roof, and exquisite wood carvings. Motifs such as the four sacred animals, the four noble plants, lotus and cranes, the eight treasures, and Chinese calligraphy create a layer of decoration rich in aesthetic and cultural value. From a visual perspective, the garden space, facade, column system, wooden interior, and intricate carvings allow for a diverse range of shots, from architectural wide angles to symbolic close-ups. With its classic architectural features and traditional living space, Huynh Phu Ancient House is suitable as a backdrop for historical dramas, period films, family dramas, documentaries, and works recreating life in the Southern region during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
