About this location
TRUNG LAO SHRINE PARISH - NINH BINH Location and Spatial Characteristics: Trung Lao Shrine Parish is located in Trung Lao village, Co Le commune, Ninh Binh province, under the Diocese of Bui Chu. This is one of the long-standing Catholic activity centers in the region, having received the Good News since 1596. The church building stands out with its large architectural scale, high bell tower, and a location closely tied to the traditional rural landscape of the Northern Delta. Historical, Cultural, and Architectural Value: The ancient Trung Lao Church was built in 1888, bearing Gothic architectural features combined with Spanish elements and traditional Vietnamese architecture. Following a fire in 2017, the structure was reconstructed and consecrated in 2024. The combination of religious architecture and surrounding landscape creates a unique visual value, suitable for wide, frontal, and low-angle shots that highlight the height and scale of the structure. Filming Exploitation Value: With its distinctive Catholic architecture and role in community religious life, Trung Lao Shrine Parish is well-suited as a backdrop for historical, cultural, and religious documentaries, as well as social-psychological feature films. The location can also accommodate scenes depicting Catholic community life, Northern rural activities, and stories related to faith, family, and community. Filming requires the consent of the parish and must ensure that religious activities are not disrupted. Compilation of information sources by: PTIT Photo source: PTIT
