About this location

Quan Thanh Temple – A Spiritual Landmark of Thang Long Located on Quan Thanh Street, Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi, Quan Thanh Temple is one of the four sacred historical sites known as Thang Long Tu Tran (The Four Guardians of Thang Long). It is dedicated to Huyen Thien Tran Vu, the deity protecting the northern region of the ancient capital. Built during the Ly dynasty, the temple holds profound historical, cultural, and spiritual value. The site features traditional architecture including a four-pillar gateway (nghi mon tu tru), a bell tower, the main ceremonial hall (dai bai), and the inner sanctuary (hau cung). Notably, the bronze statue of Huyen Thien Tran Vu, cast in 1677, is a masterpiece of molding and sculptural art. The spatial layout and collection of artifacts provide rich visual material imbued with cultural heritage. With these distinct characteristics, Quan Thanh Temple is well-suited as a filming location for historical dramas, cultural documentaries, and art films exploring traditional beliefs. Filming activities require approval from the site management authority. Source compilation by: PTIT Photo source: PTIT
