About this location
Mau Temple – A cultural and spiritual filming location in Pho Hien Mau Temple, also known as Hoa Duong Linh Tu, is located in Pho Hien Ward, Hung Yen Province. It is a historical and architectural monument within the Pho Hien Special National Relic Site. Originally built in 1279, the temple is dedicated to the Consort of the Yang clan from the Song Dynasty of China. Situated in the heart of Pho Hien and facing the Ban Nguyet (Half-Moon) Lake, the temple creates a distinct connection between architectural space and the surrounding water landscape. The ancient wooden architectural system—featuring the ceremonial hall (Bai Duong), the inner sanctuary (Hau Cung), moss-covered ceremonial gates, a spacious courtyard, and magnificent ancient trees with intertwined roots—provides an ideal backdrop for scenes depicting ancient spiritual spaces, folk religious practices, traditional customs, and nostalgic narratives. The harmonious combination of traditional materials and natural light from the southwest creates layers of depth, contributing to frames rich in cultural identity and cinematic value. The architecture and landscape of Mau Temple are suitable for historical films, cultural films, television series, documentaries, commercials, music videos, and art programs. The well-preserved heritage site offers a cohesive environment that meets diverse production requirements, authentically recreating ancient Vietnamese spaces and enhancing the visual quality of cinematic works.
