Mac Dynasty Citadel - To Thi Mountain, a historic fortress landmark amidst the rocky mountains of Lang Son. The Mac Dynasty Citadel and To Thi Mountain are part of the Nhi - Tam Thanh and To Thi Mountain scenic complex, one of the most iconic heritage clusters in Lang Son. This area has been classified as a National Heritage Site since 1962, blending limestone terrain, military architectural remnants, and the cultural legend of Lady To Thi. Built between the late 16th and mid-17th centuries, the Mac Dynasty Citadel served as a vital military base on a strategic northern route. Remaining features include stone wall sections integrated into the mountain landscape, along with gate positions and embrasures. From the citadel area, a system of stone steps leads to the mountain slopes and peaks, offering various vantage points. Adjacent to the citadel is To Thi Mountain, famous for its rock formation associated with the legend of a woman carrying her child while waiting for her husband. The rocky terrain, lush greenery, ancient walls, and expansive vistas provide multiple layers of natural imagery for framing.
