About this location

Van Linh Khanh Pagoda - An architectural and artistic heritage site in the Tra Co region Van Linh Khanh Pagoda, also known as Nam Tho Pagoda, is located in Nam Tho area, Mong Cai 1 Ward, Quang Ninh Province. This is a national-level architectural and artistic heritage site, classified in 1999. The exact founding date has not been precisely determined; historical documents on the bronze bell indicate that the pagoda has existed since 1754. Following a 'Hoi'-shaped overall layout and facing north, the pagoda comprises structures such as the Triple Gate (Tam Quan), Ancestor House (Nha To), Mother Goddess House (Nha Mau), and Guest House. The heritage site preserves a collection of 53 ancient statues along with an old-growth tree garden behind the pagoda. The Buddhist architecture, intricate carvings, courtyard space, and greenery create distinctive visual materials suitable for architectural angles and sacred spatial settings. Van Linh Khanh Pagoda is well-suited for historical-cultural documentaries, films about Buddhism, and works exploring ancient village spaces in the Northeast region. Filming angles can focus on the Triple Gate, pagoda architecture, worship statues, and the green grounds. Filming activities must be coordinated with the management unit to ensure the sanctity of the heritage site and avoid disrupting religious practices. Compiled by: PTIT Photo source: PTIT
