About this location

Ong Pagoda - Dong Nai Ong Pagoda (also known as That Phu Mieu) is located along the Dong Nai River (Hiep Hoa Ward / Cu Lao Pho area, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province). Built in 1684, it is the oldest temple of the Chinese community in Southern Vietnam and has been classified as a National Historical and Cultural Relic. The location features a spacious courtyard facing the river, notable for its traditional Chinese temple architecture, large wooden columns, yin-yang tiled roofs decorated with exquisite ceramics, as well as gilded horizontal lacquered boards, parallel couplets, and rare wood carvings. The cinematic value of Ong Pagoda lies in its antique, serene color palette and atmosphere deeply imbued with ancient East Asian culture, making it ideal for recreating ancient trading ports, Chinese quarters from feudal times, traditional grand festivals, or spiritual, nostalgic scenes. Suitable for historical films, period dramas, pseudo-historical films, cultural-artistic documentaries, or film projects requiring a unique, large-scale temple architectural space by the waterfront.
