Hoi Khanh Pagoda: A historic spiritual architectural setting in Binh Duong. Located at 35 Yersin Street, Phu Cuong Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, Hoi Khanh Pagoda is intrinsically linked to the development of Southern Buddhism and local history since the 18th century. The site was designated a National Historical and Cultural Relic under Decision No. 1460/VH-QD dated September 4, 1992. Initially constructed in 1741, the current structure reflects major renovations from the mid-19th century, showcasing the traditional architectural language of Southern Vietnamese wooden pagodas. The exceptional system of wooden columns, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and hundreds of intricately carved Buddha statues create multiple layers of space and cinematic angles rich in historical atmosphere. The expansive grounds include the main hall, lecture hall, eastern and western wings, and the area housing the longest reclining Buddha statue on a roof in Vietnam, offering a diverse blend of spiritual architecture, wooden interiors, and tranquil landscapes. With its preserved historical value and traditional Southern architectural style, this location is well-suited for historical dramas, period films, cultural documentaries, and projects recreating 18th-20th century Southern Vietnamese society, subject to relic management regulations and filming permit requirements.
