Hoi Khanh Pagoda: An ancient spiritual architectural setting in Binh Duong. Located at 35 Yersin Street, Phu Cuong Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, Hoi Khanh Pagoda is intrinsically linked to the development of Southern Buddhism and local history since the 18th century. The site was designated a National Historical and Cultural Relic under Decision No. 1460/VH-QD dated September 4, 1992. First constructed in 1741, the current structure bears the marks of a major restoration in the mid-19th century, showcasing the traditional architectural language of Southern Vietnamese wooden pagodas. The exceptional system of wooden columns, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and hundreds of intricately carved Buddha statues create multiple layers of space and cinematic angles imbued with the essence of time. The expansive grounds include the main sanctuary, lecture hall, eastern and western wings, and the area featuring the longest reclining Buddha statue on a roof in Vietnam, offering a diverse blend of spiritual architecture, wooden interiors, and serene landscapes. With its preserved historical value and traditional Southern architectural style, this location is well-suited as a setting for historical films, period dramas, cultural documentaries, and projects recreating Southern Vietnamese society from the 18th to the 20th centuries, subject to relic management regulations and filming permits.
