Ba Nuoc Man Pagoda - A 400-Year-Old Historical Relic in Gia Lai Ba Nuoc Man Pagoda is located in An Hoa Village, Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune, Gia Lai Province, approximately 25km from Quy Nhon. Established by the Chinese community during the 16th–17th centuries to worship Thien Hau Thanh Mau (Mazu), the pagoda is deeply connected to the golden age of the Nuoc Man port, once the busiest international trading port in the Dang Trong region. It was recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic in 2010. The pagoda features 'Nhat'-style architecture with Southern Chinese influences, characterized by curved boat-shaped roofs and a 'two dragons flanking the moon' motif on the roof ridge. The layout consists of multiple layers: a three-entrance gate (Tam Quan) adorned with dragon and phoenix carvings, guarded by tiger and qilin statues; a small pond in front of a screen wall engraved with a Long Ma (Dragon Horse) and Bagua; and a three-compartment main hall dedicated to Thien Hau Thanh Mau. The grounds also preserve an ancient banyan tree and a historic well, creating a solemn and sacred atmosphere. With its original Vietnamese-Chinese religious architecture and nearly 400 years of history, this location is ideal for period dramas, historical films depicting the religious life of ancient port towns, and spiritual documentaries. As this is an active place of worship, filming requires adherence to temple regulations and prior approval from the Relic Management Board. Information compiled by PTIT. Photo sources: KKDAY, mia.vn.
