Son La Museum - Layers of memory in the Northwest region Located on Khau Ca Street, To Hieu Ward, Son La Province, Son La Museum preserves and showcases a comprehensive system of documents and artifacts reflecting the history, culture, and daily life of ethnic groups in the Northwest. Established in the 1960s, the museum houses collections spanning ethnography, archaeology, resistance history, and the development of Son La province. The exhibition area is integrated with architectural structures dating back to the French colonial period, creating an antique aesthetic and a unique production backdrop. The collection includes various categories, from household items, traditional costumes, and labor tools to historical documents and artifacts related to the cultural life of the Thai, Mong, Dao, and La Ha ethnic communities. The museum also manages several significant provincial heritage sites, including the Special National Monument of Son La Prison. With its historical architecture, artifacts, and cultural documentation, Son La Museum is an ideal location for historical films, documentaries, feature films, reportages, or scenes recreating the life and culture of the Northwest region.
