Chau Phong Cham Village – An Islamic cultural space along the Chau Giang River. Located in Chau Phong Commune, An Giang Province, stretching along the gentle banks of the Chau Giang River (a branch of the Hau River), Chau Phong Cham Village is one of the most vibrant and unique ethnic Cham cultural spaces in the Mekong Delta. The village is a prosperous settlement for Cham Muslims of Champa descent, blended with Cham communities from Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The landscape offers a distinct cinematic identity, featuring century-old wooden stilt houses built from precious timbers (such as Xylia xylocarpa and Dalbergia oliveri). The main halls always face South, and the low main entrance doors require visitors to bow their heads to show respect to the homeowners. Standing out in the heart of the village is the magnificent Mubarak Mosque—a National Cultural Heritage site featuring solemn dome architecture and pointed towers. The local street vendors offering fragrant 'com ni' and 'ca pua' dishes create an authentic backdrop that no artificial film studio can replicate. Highly suitable for cultural films, ethnic-themed films, art-house cinema, documentaries, and period pieces set in the old Mekong Delta. Information compiled by: PTIT.
