Director Huynh Lap aims for his film "Nghi he so nghi huu" (Summer Break, Retirement Fear) to surpass the 240 billion VND box office revenue of "Nha gia tien" (Ancestral Home), while earning the affection of the audience.

During the film's premiere on the afternoon of August 13 in Ho Chi Minh City, he spoke about the pressure of the National Day (September 2) theatrical release season. In 2025, "Nha gia tien"—the first film directed by Huynh Lap and starring Phuong My Chi—became a "hit," entering the top 10 highest-grossing Vietnamese films at that time.
"I set a goal for the new project to at least surpass the achievements of the previous film, in order to have the budget to reinvest in future productions. Beyond the public's affection, revenue is the motivation for us to continue our craft," he said.
Huynh Lap assesses the September 2 box office race as highly competitive, featuring the historical action film "Ho linh trang si" (Guardian Warrior) and "Quy tu lam giau" (The Wealthy Son)—a project by the couple Thu Trang and Tien Luat. Consequently, he proactively scheduled the release two weeks early to secure screening slots, hoping the film can have a long theatrical run.
